Journey Though Hallowed Ground Wine Label using the painting by the local artist Antonio Walker
The Journey Through Hallowed Ground commissioned Antonia Walker to create a painting that would capture the beauty of the land that stretches 175 miles from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Charlottesville, Virginia. This rolling pastureland and softly undulating mountains encompass a rich and deep history of the American journey. The care of this land is the focus of the organization called The Journey Through Hallowed Ground. The resulting oil painting has been utilized as a frontispiece for the National Geographic book called Journey Through Hallowed Ground , which features photographs of this verdant and varied farm land by Kenneth Garrett and a foreword by Geraldine Brooks. The commissioned painting was also used as a label for a several wines especially bottled by Prince Michel Vineyard and Winery in Madison County, Virginia for The Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership. www.jthg.org
